- De doelstelling / purpose
De stichting stelt zich ten doel het bevorderen van begrip tussen de Arabische wereld en de Westerse wereld. Zij tracht dit doel te bereiken door:
- Het opbouwen van een bibliotheek ten behoeve van de studie van Oosters Christendom in de Islamitische wereld
- Het bevorderen van academische contacten tussen de Center for Arab West Understanding in Egypte en andere academische instellingen buiten Egypte
- Het bevorderen en opzetten van projecten en organisaties met een zelfde doelstelling
The Foundation has the aim to promote understanding between the Arab and Western worlds. It tries to promote this purpose through:
- Building an electronic library for the purpose of the study of Oriental Christianity in the Islamic World.
- Promoting academic contracts between the Center for Arab West Understanding in Egypt and other academic institutions outside of Egypt.
- Promoting and establishing projects and organisations with the same purpose.

- Het financieel ondersteunen van het CIDT (Center for Intercultural Dialogue LLC); deze organisatie houdt zich bezig met het schrijven van rapporten over de spanningen en andere ontwikkelingen binnen de moslim/christelijke groeperingen in de Arabische en vooral Egyptische wereld; daarnaast houdt men zich bezig met conflictbeheersing voor zover dit gaat tussen de moslimgemeenschap en de christelijke gemeenschap in Egypte
- Het financieel ondersteunen van het CAWU (Center for Arab West Understanding) in Cairo die het Arab West Report uitgeeft, een wekelijks e-magazine
- Fundraising to enable the activities as mentioned under 2. and 3 in this section.
- Financial support to the Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Translation (CIDT LLC) in Cairo, Egypt: This organisation contributes to the electronic magazine Arab-West Report, prepares reports on developments within Muslim/Christian relations in the Arab World and in particular, Egypt, and with this documentation, develops a database.
- Financially support activities of the Center for Arab-West Understanding (CAWU); this organisation contributes to the electronic magazine Arab-West Report and provides internships and forum meetings. CAWU aims to contribute to stability and reduce tensions between peoples of different beliefs and convictions in Egypt.

- Het beloningsbeleid / remuneration policy
De bestuurders ontvangen geen beloning anders dan een vergoeding voor gemaakte kosten. AWF heeft geen personeel in dienst.
The board of directors do not receive any payment with the exception of payment for made costs. AWF does not employ staff. The director of AWF is not paid by AWF and carries out the decisions of the board.

- Financiële verantwoording / Financial accountability
De Belastingdienst zal een eenvoudige model-schenkingsovereenkomst als downloadbaar bestand ter beschikking stellen op www.belastingdienst.nl dat door beide partijen moet worden getekend. Naar verwachting zal hiermee de drempel voor het doen van een periodieke schenking voor veel donateurs zijn weggenomen.
